@edd sounds like a classified ad from Craig's programming list
@edd Oh, that clear it right up. #not #wtf
@edd Somehow, that doesn't seem to be the way people are interpreting it.
@edd it's frankly insulting, is what it is. "pragmatic" would've been great. "just another" would've been fine. this is a dirty frisbee.
@edd, that may be what it was intended to mean, but surely there could have been something better. "Desparate" is too close to "Wretched".
@edd a quick google sayeth it's a meme from 1997 or so. nobody gets it in 2010. suggest cutting the top half off all the ribbons as a patch.
@shadowcat_mst showing my age
@edd unfortunately, it's awful marketing for perl and has upset a lot of people. a fix and/or an apology would go a long way about now.
@edd the basic problem is that perl is a language of large scale team app dev now not just fast hack scripting and the meme doesn't reflect
@shadowcat_mst I hear you. No foul intended, only fun affection. We'll pull 'em.
@edd thanks! if you can manage to cut 'em in half the "perl hacker" part is great. or I'll just write that on my twitter strip instead
@edd I've seen nothing but complaints about your affectionate gesture. You screwed up.
@virtualsue Yep, I did. Sorry. http://identi.ca/notice/42526775
