problogger feed Does firefox 3.6 open tabs in different places to 3.5? It used to open them on far right but now is opening them beside current window.

@problogger yes they changed the behavior, you can change it back in about:config
@problogger Yes, it associates new tabs with the tab that caused them to open.
@problogger I've noticed that too. I like the old way better.
@problogger I noticed that about Firefox when testing the Beta. I still haven't decided if I like it better or not. Bet you can turn it off
@problogger Yes. I love that. Prevents orphaned tabs... i.e., "now why the hell did I open that?"
@problogger Your right again Darren. Does it matter?
@problogger I think so but I think it opens the new tab to the one you've opened it from or on the right if it's a straight new tab.
@problogger It opens the tab next to where it was born from. that way, if you open multiple tabs, it's better organized and color coded.
@problogger ill have to check this out... i havent load it yet
@problogger Tabs working similarly here in Firefox.
@problogger I've noticed that too... it's annoying cos my eyes don't realise this yet #firefoxtabsmoving
@problogger yes http://davecaolo.com/blogging/greatest-n...
@problogger I noticed that too in Firefox 3.6, now works the same as IE in tabs and I actually prefer the new way as keeps them grouped.
@problogger Yeah, FF3.6 opens right beside opening tab--kind of nice; I often had to drag tabs back to the original tab for reference!
@problogger I'm not too surprised Firefox 3.6 did that with tabs, that is how Chrome handles tabs!
@problogger not sure. But I have noticed that too
@problogger Yes, I'm finding the same thing with where the tabs open on FF 3.6. Getting used to it, sort of.
@problogger yup, it's called Relative Tabs, and it's not to my liking... It can be disabled http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1...
@problogger yeah noticed that too, kinda of like how Chrome opens them.
@problogger I have Firefox addon installed that does this + color tabs from same domain name. Didn't you installed anything additional?
@problogger 3.6 for windows opens same as always on my computer ... don't know about mac
@problogger This is as good an explanation as any (with a way to revert to old behavior): http://jonoscript.wordpress.com/2010/02/...
@problogger UR correct on all counts.
@problogger you can change those settings in about:config
@problogger I just upgraded to the latest version of Firefox & it opens tab directly to the right of the currently open tab(s).
@problogger Yep, just like what Google Chrome does.
@problogger I have the same experience in ff 3.6. Tabs open next to current tab. Looking for option to change back to new tab in far right.
@problogger Has always opened them beside current tab for me.
@problogger Yes, I noticed that too!
@problogger I noticed the Firefox tab change as well. Looks as though they've taken a page from the Chrome playbook.
